Bloomington Speedway Hosts Doubleheader Weekend Sept 15 -16

Bloomington Speedway Pairs AMS Modifieds With USAC Lightning Sprint Nationals

Bloomington, Indiana – The upcoming racing program at Bloomington Speedway promises a bonanza of close racing action. The two-day, September 15 – 16, event features the USAC Midwest Lightning Sprint Nationals. That weekend, the historic facility will host two complete racing programs as Tom White & Company presents the Summit American Modified Series, and the Fastenal 410 non-winged sprint cars and super stocks are also in action with the USAC Lightening Sprints on Friday. Saturday’s card has the IMCA RaceSaver winged 305 sprint cars sharing the bill with the USAC Lightning Sprints.

The AMS modified program on September 15 will be sponsored by Tom White & Company and boasts a $3,500 to win payday, with $300 to start. Ticket prices each night are $15 for general admission, kids 12 and younger are free with accompanying general admission, and $30 at the pit gate. The general admission gate will open at 5:30 pm, with hot laps at 6:30 and racing about 7:30. The pit gate will open at 4:30.

At the current time, Rod Henning (2690) holds a 355-point advantage over Andy Bradley (2335) in the USAC National Lightning Sprint points, as Bradley comes off a victory in the most recent series event at Paragon Speedway. He is no stranger to Bloomington’s victory lane having claimed the win in the RaceSaver sprint car feature during the Leon Gentry Classic, in August. Henning has also been victorious, capturing the Midwest Mini Sprint Association main event at Bloomington in July. Tom Brown (2090), Justin Lewis (1970) and Ryan Secrest (1760) fill USAC’s top five in points.

Bloomington Speedway is located south of Bloomington, Indiana, at 5185 S. Fairfax Rd. We can be contacted by phone 812-824-7400, email at bloomingtonspeed@bluemarble.net, and the Bloomington Speedway page on Facebook.
