Bloomington Fall Sprint Car Double This Friday Night

Bloomington Fall Sprint Car Double This Friday Night

Friday’s Fall Sprint Car Double matches non-wing 410 sprint cars in two A-mains with RaceSaver 305 winged sprint cars also in two main events. The non-wing sprint car features will pay $4,000 to win overall, and the RaceSaver sprint car main will pay $1,200 overall. For this program, the track’s tire rule is being waived for the non-wing 410 sprint cars. All other tech and safety rules remain in effect.

Both divisions will run similar programs. Qualifying will be done in groups of up to six cars during hot laps and the fastest qualifier from each group will earn $100 and automatically transfer to the feature. Those who transfer by qualifying will draw for the front starting positions in the first main event. Then, 15-lap qualifying races will be held for the remaining positions.

Depending on the number of cars in the pits, there could be 1, 2 or 3 qualifying races. The top finishers in each event will transfer to the feature, again subject to the number of cars. Each A-main will have a 20-car starting field. Additionally, the promoter has the option to add another car or two to the feature.

For both divisions, the first feature will be 25 laps and the second will be 30 laps. Points will be awarded based on finishing position in each main event. The finishing order of the first A-main will be completely inverted to start the second A-main. The winner of the first will start last and the last finisher will start on the pole. An exception is if a car drops out of the first feature, it will start on the tail of the second. Important for all competitors, the same right rear tire must be run in both main events and the track’s technical crew will be marking the tires.

At the end of the second feature in each division, the cars will be stopped on the frontstretch while the points are compiled and then trophy ceremonies will take place. Point scores of the combined features will determine the overall winner and finishing order. The non-wing sprints will pay $4,000 to win overall, and $300 to start a feature. The RaceSavers will pay $1,200 and $225. For any ties based on the points, the finishing order in the second feature will serve as the tie breaker. The pay schedule for each division is based on the combined points for both features and there is not an additional payout for individual feature finishes. Cars that have been pre-entered are eligible for the bonus for winning both main events within a division, a $1,000 for non-wing sprint cars and $500 for RaceSaver sprints. Pre-entry and advance ticket sales was concluded after September 8.

The General Admission gate opens at 5:30, pit gate at 4:30, hot laps start at 6:30 and racing at 7:30. Ticket prices for this event are $20 General Admission and kids 12 and under are admitted free with an adult general admission. Pit passes are $35 for this event.
